WATER BOTTLES

Why does ice melt in my water bottle?
We understand the importance of keeping your water at a desired temperature. Our water bottles feature double-wall insulation, which is not specifically designed for ice retention but rather to keep liquids at a consistent temperature.

Can I put hot liquids in my water bottle?
Yes! Your Ela & Earth water bottle will keep your favourite hot liquids hot.

Will my water bottle fit in a car drink holder?
Our 550ml Water Bottle is designed to fit in a standard car drink holder!
If you prefer our 1 Litre Water Bottles, do not fear, you can purchase a Car Cup Holder.

Can I put Ela & Earth bottles in the dishwasher?
We want you to enjoy your Ela & Earth water bottle for a long time!
Our water bottles are not built for the dishwasher as the heat can damage and leave splotchy marks on our powder-coating, instead please hand wash from the inside out with warm soapy water. Our lids can also be hand-washed or popped in the dishwasher for a more thorough clean!

Is my water bottle BPA free?
Yes, your Ela & Earth water bottle is BPA free!
Ela & Earth offers water bottles made from premium materials that are entirely free of the chemical bisphenol A (BPA), a common component in plastic manufacturing. With our reusable stainless-steel bottles, you can be assured that they are 100% BPA-free and safe for your use.

Are Ela & Earth bottles insulated?
Absolutely! Ela & Earth water bottles are designed with a double wall insulation and 304 food-grade stainless steel.

After how long should I replace my bottle?
The general lifespan of a stainless-steel water bottle is 1-2 years before it is recommended to replace them. To maintain a safe and hygienic water bottle, replacing the lid/mouthpiece is recommended every 8-12 months. In the unlikely event that you experience any issues with your water bottle outside this period, your bottle may be deemed with general wear and tear. Stainless steel bottles are very durable and can last for years if properly maintained. However, if you notice any dents, tarnishing, or if the bottle develops an odour that can’t be removed with cleaning (or an inability to clean thoroughly), it’s likely time to replace it.

There’s a white chalky residue in my bottle?
After time you may notice a white, powdery residue around the opening of your stainless-steel water bottle. No need to worry, this chalky substance is left over mineral deposits from your water!
If you use tap water or unfiltered water, minerals like calcium and magnesium can accumulate over time leaving a white, chalky residue. Whilst it may look worrying, mineral deposits are quite common and are in no way a health hazard to you! This residue easily wipes out with a damp cloth.

My lid is leaking?
Our water bottles shouldn’t leak if the lid is screwed on tightly and the mouthpiece folded down. However, there’s always a chance the mouthpiece could become dislodged (getting knocked in your handbag or being left on their side) which is why we hesitate to describe them as 100% leakproof.

Are Ela & Earth bottles insulated?
Absolutely! Ela & Earth water bottles are designed with a double wall insulation and 304 food-grade stainless steel.

Do your water bottles contain lead?
All our water bottles are free from BPA and BPS. Our Coffee Tumblers, Smoothie Tumblers and 1.8 Litre Water Bottles are also lead free. We are currently working toward all our drinkware to be lead-free right now. However, the vacuum at the bottom of our 550ml and 1 Litre Water Bottles contain a lead component safely enclosed in plastic powder, maintaining its integrity and usability without any negative impact.

My water bottle looks rusty?
Our drinkware is made with 304 food-grade stainless steel which is highly rust resistant. If you see rust, the bottle is more likely stained, which makes the surface look rust in colour (this can be reversed)!
To reverse any rust like stains, please use the following method:

  1. Mix a solution of baking soda and white vinegar
  2. Apply to your bottle and give it a scrub - you may want to let it sit for 5-10 minutes
  3. Wash with warm soapy water

My straw arrived split?
Oh no, so sorry to hear the straw has arrived split. We’d like to kindly inform you that a replacement straw is already included in the box for your convenience.
Instances of our BPA-free plastic straws splitting are infrequent - to address this concern and minimise our environmental impact, we have taken a proactive approach by including a substitute for our customers within the packaging.

My soft mouthpiece has become discoloured?
Coloured silicone by nature is susceptible to bacterial growth which creates discolouration on the mouthpiece. This is going to show up more on the lighter colour lids than say our darker ones unfortunately. Cases are infrequent; however, this is the nature of coloured silicone.

The discolouration may occur from the following reasons:

  1. Exposure to certain foods and liquids such as coffee and tea
  2. Mouth bacterial growth if not cleaned regularly
  3. UV exposure can naturally discolour silicone over time

We recommend keeping the mouthpiece folded down whenever the bottle is not in active use and cleaning your lid regularly!

My water bottle doesn’t keep water cold and there’s condensation?
If you ever encounter a problem with the vacuum-sealed insulation, such as a rattling noise or if your liquids are not kept at a desired temperature, you can perform a simple test! Fill your water bottle with boiling water and if the exterior becomes warm to the touch, it indicates an internal fault. If this is the case, please email our friendly customer service team for further assistance!

How much do your water bottles weigh?

  1. 550ml - 0.35 kg
  2. 1 litre - 0.5 kg
  3. 1.8 litre - 0.95 kg

TUMBLERS

Are the tumblers leakproof?
Our insulated Smoothie Tumbler and Coffee Tumbler lids are not 100% leakproof, therefore we do not recommend placing them in your bag when they are full of liquid – especially hot beverages.

Do the tumblers fit in car cup holders?
Both of our Coffee Tumblers and Smoothie Tumblers typically do fit in most standard car cup holders!

Why are your tumblers the same price?
Whilst our 590ml smoothie tumblers are great for capacity, our 350ml coffee tumblers come with two different drinking lids depending on your preference.

Are they dishwasher safe?
Our tumblers are not built for the dishwasher as the heat can damage and leave splotchy marks on our powder-coating, instead please hand wash from the inside out with warm soapy water.

REPLACEMENT LIDS

My carry handle is discoloured?
Sorry to hear this! Coloured silicone can naturally fade overtime due to wear and tear from cleaning chemicals, food/liquids, clothing dye and UV exposure.

My bottle has a different mouthpiece?
Thank you for noticing our new, exciting lids! We have made a business wide transition from our original silicone mouthpiece lids to a new hard, BPA-free, Chew Proof mouthpiece. This new and improved lid has been implemented due to customer feedback and to ensure the durability and longevity of your water bottle lid.

Can I use a metal straw in the water bottle lid?
Our Metal Smoothie Straws and Metal Soda Straws which are sold separately, unfortunately do not fit into our water bottle lids.
