Role: Ecommerce Manager

Ela & Earth is a fast-growing Australian lifestyle brand specialising in beautifully designed, functional everyday essentials for families. From lunchware and bags to travel and lifestyle accessories, we are a product-led brand with a strong community and ambitious growth plans.
As we scale into our next phase, we are seeking an experienced Ecommerce Manager to own and lead the entire ecommerce function — from strategy through to execution — while building a high-performing team and delivering strong commercial outcomes.
Location: Tweed Heads South HQ
Reports to: Founder & Director
Manages: Ecommerce, Digital, CX & Content team members (direct and indirect)
Role: Full time (Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm AEDT)
About the Role
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for end-to-end ecommerce performance. You will oversee the online store, digital marketing, customer journey, conversion optimisation, merchandising, and reporting, while leading and developing a growing ecommerce team.
You will work closely with the Founder, Product, Marketing, Operations and Warehouse teams to ensure the ecommerce channel is profitable, scalable, and operationally sound.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving ecommerce environment, loves data and performance, and can balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Ecommerce Strategy & Performance
- Own the ecommerce P&L and drive revenue growth, profitability, and conversion
- Develop and execute the ecommerce strategy aligned to brand and business goals
- Monitor and optimise site performance (conversion rate, AOV, retention, UX)
- Lead planning for major trading periods (BFCM, EOFY, product launches, seasonal peaks)
Shopify & Website Management
- Own the Shopify Plus storefront including merchandising, navigation, collections and product setup
- Brief and manage site improvements, CRO initiatives and UX enhancements
- Ensure site accuracy, pricing integrity, promotions and tax/shipping logic
- Work closely with developers or agencies where required
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor and performance-manage the ecommerce and digital team
- Set clear priorities, KPIs and workflows across ecommerce, CX and content
- Foster a high-performance, accountable and positive team culture
- Identify capability gaps and support hiring and role development as the team scales
Reporting, Forecasting & Insights
- Deliver weekly and monthly ecommerce performance reporting
- Analyse data to identify opportunities, risks and trends
- Collaborate with finance and inventory teams on forecasting, stock flow and sell-through
- Use insights to guide trading, product and marketing decisions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product on launches, merchandising and product data accuracy
- Partner with Warehouse & Operations to ensure smooth fulfilment and customer experience
- Act as a key stakeholder in planning meetings and leadership discussions
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 5+ years experience in ecommerce, ideally within a DTC or retail brand
- Proven experience managing Shopify (Plus experience highly regarded)
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset with P&L exposure
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Deep understanding of ecommerce metrics and performance drivers
- Confident working cross-functionally in a growing business
Highly Regarded
- Experience scaling an ecommerce brand through growth phases
- Knowledge of Klaviyo, Meta Ads, Google, CRO tools and analytics platforms
- Experience working with inventory forecasting and trading calendars
- Background in lifestyle, fashion, accessories or family-focused brands
